Treat your kids to a healthy, vegan meal tonight.

Despite what many people believe, eating vegan food is just as healthy for children as adults. Vegans tend to have a better diet diversity since they can eat more vegetables and fruits while still enjoying the benefits of whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. The American Dietetic Association (ADA) has stated that vegan children do not need to be offered meat along with their meals as long as they are also getting a variety of calcium-rich foods, including milk, yogurt and cheese. When you consider this fact alongside the numerous health benefits of a plant-based diet (which includes reduced risk of heart disease and cancer), it becomes clear why children deserve this dietary choice just like any other child does!

There are so many delicious vegan recipes out there for kids! For this article, we will focus on breakfast – arguably the most important meal of the day – and show you suitable vegan ingredients and methods to introduce to your child.

My family likes to mix up our mornings by having something new and different than cereal or yogurt for breakfast each morning! My three favorite vegan recipes that I want to make for my daughter include: Vegan Quiche (that uses tofu as a substitute for eggs), Pancakes with Blueberry Sauce (which is made with Tofu cream as opposed to butter)

Many parents know that eating healthy is the best way to provide their child with essential nutrients and vitamins, but they may not always know what foods are vegan. A strict vegan diet doesn't allow animal products, including meat, fish or dairy products. However, you can still create a satisfying and nutritious meal for your child by choosing from a wide variety of plant-based dishes such as:

fruits and vegetable whole grains like rice, barley and quinoa

legumes like lentils and chickpeas nuts like almonds seeds like pumpkin beans like edamame beans
